Special Location!

We’ll be holding one of our workshops for moms in Idaho Falls! Since most of our workshops are currently being taught in Utah, this is a great chance to learn. This workshop will be taught by Emily Wheeler, a photography student at Brigham Young University in Provo. With 8 nieces and 2 nephews, Emily’s had lots of practice photographing children and has the experience to teach you how to get better pictures of your kids.

*Don't Forget!*- We will provide free babysitting for the first 5 people who sign up!

Workshops for Moms

We're excited to announce that we'll be holding a series of photography workshops especially for moms!

Did you buy an expensive camera to take pictures of your kids, but you still shoot on "Auto"? Or do you just want to know how to make pictures of your kids look better? Either way, we want you to get your money's worth out of your camera and learn how to use it to its fullest.

Here are the classes we'll be offering:

Taking Control of Your Camera*
Don’t let your camera control you! This class will teach you what all of those settings on your camera really mean. ISO? Shutter speed? Aperture? We’ll teach you how to manually control these three basic functions so that you can get the full benefit of that fancy camera you bought and take better photos. Say goodbye to the Auto button!

Catch Me If You Can!
Feel like it’s impossible to get a good picture of your kids? We can help! After our “Taking Control of Your Camera” class, you’ll better understand your camera and be ready for us to teach you how to adjust your settings to keep up with your kids who are always on the go. We will also cover basic composition rules to help your pictures look fantastic.

At Home Studio
Professional looking pictures are easier than you think! We’ll teach you simple techniques to make your child’s portraits look just like you took them to a studio. Lighting, posing, and composition rules will be discussed. Get high quality photographs without the expensive equipment or price!

*Our classes are $35 each, but for our workshops this month, we'll be offering our "Taking Control of Your Camera" class for free when you register for a second class!

Sign up soon! We'll also offer babysitting for free to the first 5 people who sign up at each location.

Two freebies? You can't beat that. :)

Check out our Times and Locations here to find a workshop that will work for you.

We look forward to seeing you there!

We're so excited to have you participate in our workshop! It wasn't too long ago that we were in your shoes and we want to make sure you're even more prepared than we were to apply for competitive college photography programs. And even if you're not planning on pursuing a degree in photography, there are plenty of classes we'll offer that will help you refine your skills.

Our classes will include everything you need to know to have an outstanding portfolio. Since this workshop is geared towards you, we'd love to have your feedback on which areas you'd like to improve. Leave us a comment and we'll make sure to incorporate your needs into our curriculum!

Keep checking the blog for updates on the workshop schedule and prices. This information should be up soon. In any case, mark your calendar for February 26th!

And so it begins

Well here we go! I'm very excited to start this blog and to have an awesome team to get this launched. You might ask what “this” is. We are here to help high school students get to the next level in their journey to learn photography, and anyone else for that matter.
I had a vision for this years ago. I remember what it was like to apply to universities and, on a wing and a prayer, hoping to get accepted. Most of all, I wanted to get into the BYU photography program. When I received the letter, I made my father read it. Well, it's now four years since that letter and I want to pay it forward. I hope to help all those high school students with their dreams.
We all know that high school students aren’t the only people that are interested in how to take great photos. I am recently married and now I get all sorts of questions from my mother in-law, relatives, and many friends who are starting to have, or have had, children for a while. They ask, "How can I make this photo a little better?" Well that's why we are starting these workshops to enable you to make the kind of imagery you have always wanted.
Feel free to ask any questions. I will always answer freely and give of what I know. Of course, we encourage you to attend the workshops, they will be a blast! We will spend some time lecturing but the rest we will be a hands-on experience, so don't leave your cameras at home. This is what sets our workshops apart from many others. Both Emily and I are formally trained at BYU, and I have been working professionally for 5 years. This does not mean we have all of the answers, but we have a real passion for what we do and wish to share it with you. So let’s make some photos!
