And so it begins

Well here we go! I'm very excited to start this blog and to have an awesome team to get this launched. You might ask what “this” is. We are here to help high school students get to the next level in their journey to learn photography, and anyone else for that matter.
I had a vision for this years ago. I remember what it was like to apply to universities and, on a wing and a prayer, hoping to get accepted. Most of all, I wanted to get into the BYU photography program. When I received the letter, I made my father read it. Well, it's now four years since that letter and I want to pay it forward. I hope to help all those high school students with their dreams.
We all know that high school students aren’t the only people that are interested in how to take great photos. I am recently married and now I get all sorts of questions from my mother in-law, relatives, and many friends who are starting to have, or have had, children for a while. They ask, "How can I make this photo a little better?" Well that's why we are starting these workshops to enable you to make the kind of imagery you have always wanted.
Feel free to ask any questions. I will always answer freely and give of what I know. Of course, we encourage you to attend the workshops, they will be a blast! We will spend some time lecturing but the rest we will be a hands-on experience, so don't leave your cameras at home. This is what sets our workshops apart from many others. Both Emily and I are formally trained at BYU, and I have been working professionally for 5 years. This does not mean we have all of the answers, but we have a real passion for what we do and wish to share it with you. So let’s make some photos!

After looking around your web site, I figured out your workshops must be in Utah, in person. That's too bad. I was hoping they were online, in a virtual classroom. But, I guess that's good for people in Utah. =) I love the photos on the web site. They are beautiful! And the links across the top are well-placed. Easy to find and navigate. You might want to say something on your home page about these being in-person workshops located in (is it Lindon?) Utah. Just so those of us in, say, Virginia, don't get our hopes up too much. =)
